The final day of individual championships saw stellar performances from a pair of great champions in France’s Teddy Riner and Cuba’s Idalys Ortiz, who were truly dominant in their respective weight classes. Only the team event now remains tomorrow.

Normality resumes at Silverstone as Marquez wins British GP
Marc Marquez ensured that the Czech GP was just a one off as he took victory in the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
The championship leader took his 11th win out of 12 races after getting the better of Jorge Lorenzo in an intense race-long battle.
The 21-year-old put in the race winning move with just three laps remaining as he sat Lorenzo up to take the lead.
Marquez and Lorenzo had a great fight for the lead
Behind the top two riders there was a great battle for the final step of the podium, with Valentino Rossi getting the better of Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso.
Todays race was Rossi’s 246th in the premier class which surpasses the old record set by Alex Barros.
It was a mixed race for the British riders, with Bradley Smith suffering from a mechanical issue with 10 laps remaining when he was up…

Lineups: The starting fives were as expected for Game 1 of this eagerly anticipated series. The only slight surprise among the available players was that Lynx post Damiris Dantas had recently returned from her personal issues back in Brazil, and was available again off the bench for Minnesota.
Story of the Game: The game started as much of it would go on – unfortunately for Minnesota. Buoyed by their noisy home crowd, the Mercury got out in transition early on and scored the first nine points of the game. They were challenging hard on all the jumpers the Lynx were tossing up, leaking out after making those challenges, and beating Minnesota down the floor at the other end. EU Foreign Policy chief to be picked

European Union leaders are set to decide who will get the prestigious job as the 28-nation bloc’s foreign policy chief for the next five years.
The heads of state and government are widely expected to nominate Italy’s Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini at Saturday’s summit in Brussels as part of a package deal that includes other top appointments.
The decision on incumbent Catherine Ashton’s successor comes as the crisis at the EU’s eastern border pitting Ukraine against Russia poses one of the biggest foreign policy challenges for the bloc in decades.
Ashton, whose term ends in October, has been a frequent interlocutor for U.S. secretaries of state and chairs the negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program.
The 41-year-old Mogherini, Italy’s foreign minister only since February, has been criticized for lacking experience.
Polish prime minister Donald Tusk expected to become top EU official
EU leaders have unanimously chosen Poland’s prime minister as president of the European Council, giving a country from the ex-Communist bloc its first European leadership position since the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Donald Tusk, who will now chair all EU summits and represent the bloc’s prime minsters in legislative fights, will be joined atop the union’s Brussels-based bureaucracy by Federica Mogherini, the Italian foreign minister who was chosen EU foreign policy chief.
Mr Tusk, the centre-right premier since 2007, had faced some opposition from Europe’s centre-left Socialists and other leaders concerned that his limited language skills – he speaks poor English and no French – would make it hard for him to broker deals among the EU’s 28 leaders, the Council president’s primary job.

A Stronger EU Leadership?
I only met Herman Van Rompuy once, finding him courteous and professorial, which is maybe not surprising given his low-key personality and taste for composing haiku, but I always felt it unfair the way the British Press ridiculed the former Belgian Prime Minister once he became President of the European Council; even Jeremy Paxman on BBC2’s Newsnight couldn’t resist the red-tops sobriquet for him, « Rumpy Pumpy ». Anyway, his now nominated successor, Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk, is an entirely different creature and should give added weight to the EU Council role. Even David Cameron approves of Mr Tusk (though I shan’t hold that against him). Moreover, it is a good move to have a Pole in this position, as Poland is something of a modern EU success story, as well as being firm on the EU and NATO’s need to stand up to Vladimir Putin’s outrageous Russian expansionism. Un peu de vocabulaire… !
J’adore le vocabulaire et les expressions du Québec en plus de l’accent. Quand on a pas l’habitude la 1ère fois ça fait bizarre. Comme l’inverse pour un Canadien Québecois ou autre qui vient en France et qui ne connaît pas certaines expressions.
Les Québécois parlent le français mais avec quelques différences par rapport à nous. Cela s’apparente à du vieux français ou à un patois avec parfois des traductions mot à mot de l’anglais. En effet, la politique linguistique du Québec les oblige à tout afficher en français qui est la langue officielle.

Je suis un fan de Djokovic. Dommage pour Paulo, notre Paul-Henri Mathieu national PHM (j’ai le même âge que lui et même né à 2 jours avant lui, je suis du 10 janvier), j’aime les 2 joueurs. J’espère que Djoko ira au bout maintenant mais je sais que ce ne sera pas simple.

Une bonne nouvelle, Apple a commencé à envoyer des invitations pour l’événement du 9 septembre, qui aura lieu dans moins de deux semaines.
Apple est indiqué ci-dessus avec un petit message disant: «Nous souhaitons que nous pourrions en dire plus » et daté au 9-9-2014. Apple devrait dévoiler un nouvelle iPhone, avec son nouveau logiciel iOS 8 et Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite, sûrement que deux versions différentes serait représentées à cette événement du 9 septembre et peut être d’autre surprise : iWatch ? qui aura lieu au Flint Center à Cupertino à 19h. Beaucoup de rumeurs on été dit pendant des mois sur le web, concernant la sorti de l’iWatch ainsi que l’iPhone 6 d’Apple..
Aux dernières rumeurs, il se dit qu’Apple va présenter son iWatch le 9 Septembre prochain ainsi que l’ iPhone6 , Apple va présenter le produit en premier lieu pour le sortir plus tard, il ne faut pas s’attendre à voir dans les boutiques une iWatch pour 2014, la montre d’Apple sortira plutôt début de l’année 2015, Apple a déjà utilisé ce scénario dans le passé. Le livre pour les Restos du Coeur le 6/11
Chez Pocket paraîtra un recueil de nouvelles pour les Restos du Coeur.
Une belle brochette d’auteurs (Levy, Chattam, Thilliez, Werber, …) s’est amusée à concocter un texte autour de la notion de repas. Et compte tenu des univers de chacun, autant vous dire que la même vision de ce que peut être un repas ne sera pas la même… Rire, attendrissement, intrigue, frissons….
Tous les participants à ce recueil sont bénévoles bien entendu, certains libraires refusent de négocier la moindre remise, des imprimeurs offrent du papier… bref, c’est toute la chaîne du livre qui s’est rassemblée pour faire de ce livre une belle action jusqu’au bout. Pocket s’engage à reverser votre achat directement.
