Normality resumes at Silverstone as Marquez wins British GP

Marc Marquez ensured that the Czech GP was just a one off as he took victory in the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

The championship leader took his 11th win out of 12 races after getting the better of Jorge Lorenzo in an intense race-long battle.

The 21-year-old put in the race winning move with just three laps remaining as he sat Lorenzo up to take the lead.

Behind the top two riders there was a great battle for the final step of the podium, with Valentino Rossi getting the better of Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso.

Todays race was Rossi’s 246th in the premier class which surpasses the old record set by Alex Barros.

It was a mixed race for the British riders, with Bradley Smith suffering from a mechanical issue with 10 laps remaining when he was up…
