Social media in orbit: An astronaut’s stunning photos shared via Twitter

After almost six months aboard the International Space Station (ISS), Maryland local Reid Wiseman landed safely in Kazakhstan last night. Wiseman built quite a social media following for his pictures from space.

“It’s been an honor and a privilege to spend 165 days up here. With that said, I’m looking forward to heading home,” Wiseman said on Saturday. Wiseman grew up in Cockeysville, Md., near Baltimore.

Apple finally lets you deregister phone numbers from iMessage

Fortune

Apple’s [fortune-stock symbol= »AAPL »] new web tool lets ex-iOS users efficiently deregister their phone numbers from Apple’s iMessage system and ensures that future SMS messages get delivered to the new device.

The fix corrects a long-standing problem: If former iPhone users don’t disable iMessage before transferring to a different smartphone, SMS messages sent to them by people still using Apple devices can continue to be sent as iMessages. But, since iMessage is exclusive to Apple platforms, those messages won’t be received on the new smartphone. The bug is the subject of a class action lawsuit in California.

I was invited by Creative Bazaar (a boutique in Bintang Megamall) to watch a fashion show they organized yesterday – that was Sunday noon (19 October 2014). The fashion show took place at level 1 of Bintang Megamall shopping complex. Many thanks to Creative Bazaar for the gracious invitation.

Pictures and video in this post are all taken using my cell phone – the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom. I apologize for some of the blurry images.

On the notice board ... On the notice board …

They told me to be there at 12 noon. I arrived at 12.05pm after enduring a slow traffic leading towards the Bintang Megamall entrance. I left home half an hour earlier because I knew it would be…
