Condolences, prayers for Germanwings Flight 4U9525 crash victims

German Chancellor Angela Merkel will travel to the crash site in the French Alps, where a Germanwings Airbus 320 went down with 150 people on board.

« It’s a moment of great sorrow, » Merkel said in the wake of Germanwings Flight 4U9525 crash Tuesday morning on its way from Barcelona, Spain to Dusseldorf, Germany.

She said Germany, Spain and France are all in « deep mourning » for the victims of the disaster.

French President Francois Hollande said it was « a tragedy on our soil » and warned it’s not likely anyone survived.

Jose luis Rodriguez Zapatero a annoncé des élections législatives anticipées en Espagne. Le chef du gouvernement espagnol a tenu à la mi-journée une conférence de presse vendredi. La date retenue pour ce scrutin est le 20 novembre prochain, après la dissolution du Parlement qui aura lieu le 26 septembre.
Les élections se tiendront donc quatre mois avant la date officielle de fin de la législature, en mars 2012. Zapatero ne se représentera pas et Mariano Rajoy le chef des conservateurs espagnols est le favori pour lui succéder.
