Le prix Médicis a été décerné à Nathalie Azoulai
Le prix Médicis a été décerné jeudi à Nathalie Azoulai pour « Titus n’aimait pas Bérénice » (éditions POL), a annoncé le jury. Pour le livre étranger, le prix est allé à l’écrivain turc Hakan Günday pour « Encore » chez Galaade.
Nathalie Azoulai (49 ans) était la seule femme parmi les finalistes du Goncourt, qui a finalement été attribué mardi à Mathias Enard pour « Boussole » (Actes Sud).
« Je suis très heureuse. C’était une semaine difficile, mais qui se termine de la plus belle des manières. J’étais aussi nommée sur quelques autres listes et il y a ce jeu de l’attente (…) qui se conclut admirablement ».
Inspirée par l’œuvre de Racine
Nathalie Azoulai a puisé son inspiration dans l’œuvre de Racine et s’est immergée dans le Grand Siècle de Louis XIV pour écrire « Titus n’aimait pas Bérénice », qui n’en est pas moins un roman très contemporain sur un chagrin d’amour d’aujourd’hui.

La doyenne de Suisse est décédée peu avant son 111e anniversaire
Nina Hofer-Lustenberger, la doyenne de Suisse, est décédée lundi dans un home à Kriens (LU), peu avant son 111e anniversaire. Elle laisse cinq enfants et de nombreux petits-enfants et arrière-petits-enfants.
Née le 28 novembre 1904, Nina Hofer-Lustenberger vient de Notwil (LU), a rapporté la Neue Luzerner Zeitung dans son édition de jeudi. Après un apprentissage de couturière, elle s’est installée à Kriens en 1928. C’est là qu’elle a exploité une petite ferme pendant plus de 60 ans avec son mari. Celui-ci est mort en 1987. Elle est entrée au home en 2000.
Selon la commune de Kriens, Nina Hofer-Lustenberger était la doyenne de Suisse. C’est une Tessinoise qui détient le record de longévité: elle est décédée en 2010 peu avant son 113e anniversaire.

Sans doute, mais c’est parce qu’il ne peut plus nous faire la cour ouvertement. Il lui faut se convaincre qu’il ne cherche pas à nous flatter. Il nous fera donc une cour négative à la façon des passionnés dostoïevskiens.

I’m a big fan of Ikea’s advertising. It’s relentlessly charming (the adorable Playing With My Friends TV ad by Mother), never takes itself too seriously (their clever assembly service press ads), and is beautifully, subtly branded (the pastel colouring in all their ads, and their beautiful cook books and kitchenware shots).
This Malaysian Ikea launch ad combines a lot of my favourite things: a great tune, funny use of the weird-ass Ikea names, and a technique that’s done in-camera (letting you seen the joins):

Note: This is the Editing Blog for my FFVII fanfiction Northern Lights (which you can find at the end of that link). I will be discussing a myriad of topics along with my frequently tangential and harried editing process. Hello everyone! Welcome to Week 9 of the 2015 NFL season.
This season is a tale of the unbeaten. We entered Week 8 with five teams. Now, that number dwindled slightly.
The New England Patriots opened the week business as usual, defeating the Miami Dolphins. Sunday saw the Cincinnati Bengals hold on to defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers and the returning Ben Roethlisberger.
It was Sunday night when the undefeated of five turned to four.
The Denver Broncos pulverized the Green Bay Packers 29-10, holding Aaron Rodgers to 77 passing yards. The Broncos also traded for former 49ers TE Vernon Davis. In other words, Peyton Manning just received another weapon.
Monday night almost saw the Carolina Panthers fall to the struggling Indianapolis Colts in overtime. It was the late heroics of Panthers kicker Chad Gano…
