Following the results of last week’s elimination finals, we now know the four teams in contention for a spot in the grand final. The opening game for the second-to-last round of the 2014/15 season will be an intense Melbourne derby and will take place tonight at 7:30pm (EST). Melbourne Victory face neighbours Melbourne City in what is sure to be a massive clash between two fierce rivals. Melbourne Victory are clear favourites at $1.75, with City way out on $4.50.

Following their somewhat surprising win over Wellington last week, City come up against finals favourites Melbourne Victory and it will be interesting to see how both sides deal with the pressure of a semi-final. The Rebels kept in touch with the Super Rugby play-off positions as they recorded a 42-22 bonus-point victory over the Blues in Melbourne on Friday.

Five tries were scored by the home side, who feasted on the Blues’ mistakes at times as the men from Auckland had their slim hopes of knockout rugby firmly extinguished by a much more clinical Australian outfit.

The Rebels are now provisionally just two points off the top six places and will hope the Force and Brumbies do them a favour this weekend.

The Crusaders kept their Super Rugby play-off hopes alive on Friday with an impressive 58-17 victory over the Reds in Christchuch.

It was a special night for Crusaders icons Dan Carter and Richie McCaw as they celebrated what is likely to be their last game in a red jersey at AMI Stadium in style, with Carter having a particularly good game.
