Ever since the year 2000 coinciding with the appointment of Floretino Perez as club president of Real Madrid, Los Blancos were quick to adopt a new philosophy at the club in the wake of their; deepening finical debt and the rise in prominence of bitter rivals Barcelona and pretenders to their crown of the biggest club in world football in Manchester united. Despite having 11 different managers in 14 years the philosophy always remained the same and simple, never be adverse to breaking the banking when it came to bring in the best and most lucrative players to the world, he termed this audacious plan Galácticos. Although the plan greatly divides most football fan; some seeing it merely as a marketing ploy to bring big names in just to sell shirts and help expand the lucrative Real Madrid name to foreign markets, particularly in rapidly developing Asia. While other will…

Real Madrid are reportedly looking to move SamiKhedira during the 2014 summer transfer window to avoid losing him for free in 2015, and Los Blancos are making the smart decision in doing so.
Arsenal are one of the clubs rumoured to be interested in the services of the German international, and as reported by Metro‘s Jamie Sanderson, ArseneWengerrefused to rule out a transfer for the experienced midfielder.
When asked aboutKhedira, the Frenchman replied, « I don’t want to give you any names. We are not close to signing anybody at the moment. »
The very next thing he did was, you guessed it, give names, ruling out transfers for a host of other players like Juan Quinteroand Mario Balotelli, per the club’s Twitter account and Spanish football insider Sergi Dominguez.

Manchester United and Real Madrid sold out all 109,000 tickets for their pre-season friendly in under 24 hours.
The two heavyweights of European football will lock horns at the Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, in the early hours of tomorrow, with former Red Cristiano Ronaldo expected to be fit to face his former club.
The crowd will be the biggest for a football match in the US, beating the 93,137 attendance for a friendly between Barcelona v LA Galaxy at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena in 2009
United striker Wayne Rooney said: “It’s fantastic. The fanbase over here is great and it’s two massive clubs, two of the biggest clubs in the world, so to sell that many tickets for a pre-season match is incredible.”
The biggest crowd United have ever played in front of was 120,000 at the Bernabeu for a European Cup semi-final in April 1957. This will be the largest attendance they have…

Michigan Stadium usually hosts the Michigan Wolverines football team, but today a different kind of football will be played at the Big House. Two of the biggest and most supported clubs in the world face off this afternoon in Manchester United and Real Madrid. Manchester United hopes to win their third straight match against Group A opponents in this International Champions Cup tournament while Real Madrid are still searching for their first win on American soil this year.
Real Madrid come into today having lost games against Inter and AS Roma. They played tough, taking Inter to penalty kicks where they ultimately lost 3-2 and only giving up one goal to AS Roma. Currently in last place Madrid will hope to come into the match today with more firepower than they have shown in their previous matches only scoring one goal between the two games. This lack of production could…

Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo has claimed today that: “Juan Guillermo Cuadrado remains one of the objectives of FC Barcelona to finish completing their squad ahead of the 2014-15 season. Topdeck day six
We left Avignon at 8am after a breakfast of croissants and coffee.
On the way we stopped at the Pont du Gard, and had a good look around. This bridge is an ancient roman aqueduct bridge.
It is the 72nd wonder of the world.
At 9:45am we headed off for Barcelona.
We arrived at about 3pm and straight away did a driving tour around Barcelona to see all the sights we could see on our free day tomorrow.
We stopped off at the la Sagrada Familia. Designed by the architect Antonio Gaudi, he worked on it for 26 or so years, before getting hit by a tram and dying. As you can see it is still a work in progress. They expect it to be completed by 2030.
This is an old bull fighting ring, obviously not used for it now.
At one point we went to…

SERIE A According to Le Parisien, AC Milan have contacted Marseille president Vincent Labrune regarding a possible transfer of 29-year-old goalkeeper Steve Mandanda.
The Italian club is however not the only club looking to sign Mandanda. AS Monaco, Napoli and Southampton have all declared their interest.
The World Cup has come and gone, and with its departure, club football has resumed. That means fans drooling over meaningless preseason friendlies and endless transfer rumors. And who can blame them. Sure, the World Cup was awesome to say the least, but not being able to see one’s team play week in and week out takes its toll on the diehards every summer.
I’m American, and I love watching the US Men’s National Team play on the world stage; but it’s not comparable to watching Chelsea in midweek against Europe’s elite. In the absence of competitive matches, there are dozens of things to talk about during preseason. Will Diego Costa finally break Chelsea’s curse of signing useless strikers? Will Robert Lewandowski provide Bayern the goals they were lacking in the late stages of the Champions League? Are Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez the players Real needs to become the…

In April 2009, Andrei Arshavin scored 4 goals against Liverpool at Anfield, that was the last time a gunner scored 4 goals.
Yaya Sanogo rose from the shambles of his missed goals and goal-less-ness of last season to grab 4 goals in 48minutes as Arsenal won their 1st Emirates Cup game of 2014.
The Emirates Cup began with Monaco and Valencia sharing the spoils in a 2-2 draw. The goals were to continue at the stadium with Arsenal on fire.
Martinez started in goal with Monreal and Chambers as center backs flanged by Bellerin andGibbs. Flamini, Campbell, Ramsey, Rosicky, Ox and Sanogo completed the starting lineup.
Sanogo opened the scoring midway through the first half with a neat finish from close range after Ramsey had outrun two Benfica defenders. Joel Campbell extended the lead with his first goal in Arsenal colours. A wonderful volley after good work on the flank…

The Gunners forward scored a first-half hat-trick before getting another after the break.
But it was his celebration after the fourth which leaves a lot to be desired:
You’ll need to get working on that Yaya if you plan on leading the line well for Arsenal this term.
Joel Campbell got the other goal for the home side, while Nico Gaitan hit a consolation for the Portuguese visitors.
The pitch was perfect, the new Puma kits looked surprisingly good and Arsenal was back at homes for the seventh installment of The Emirates Cup. While many in attendance would have been disappointed when they saw Alexis Sanchez wasn’t starting, they were treated to a dazzling offensive display from a host of others. It ended 5-1 to the Arsenal, but it could have been even more.
If the first half of today’s game against Benfica was any indication, this is going to be a really fun year. The starting lineup wasn’t your typical Arsenal side, but it was full of hadr-working, pacey players full of drive to get forward. Unlike many Arsenal teams from years past, they were ruthless in the final third as well. The flicks and turns were gorgeous all day, and they came from just about everyone on the pitch. It felt like someone was finding acres…

With the start of the 2014-15 Premier League season fast approaching, I thought I would unveil my predictions for next season. Here’s my top four:
Last season, Jose Mourinho’s side finished 3rd with no consistent striking options in Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto’o, or Demba Ba. This summer they’ve filled the gap by adding Diego Costa and Didier Drogba. On paper they boast arguably the most deadly attack in the league: Diego Costa at striker, Eden Hazard and Andre Shurrle on the wings, and Oscar behind Costa. The Blues also signed Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona. All this combined with speedy backs Cesar Azpillicueta and Branislav Ivanovic, there’s bound to be many goals scored next year at Stamford Bridge.
2. Manchester City
The reigning champions enter this season with virtually the same side as last year. This isn’t bad, considering City led the league in goal scoring and allowed the…
